Here’s a little photo diary of what’s been in my hoop lately…
Version 1 of Oceans lyrics by Hillsong United
the second version of Hillsong United’s Oceans lyrics…still a WIP
and I’ve also put together a small felt hair clip collection
A few pictures of some finished things I had the joy of removing from my hoop this week…
Hexagons are all the rage right now in the crafty world (along with granny squares…which is next on my “to-learn” list), so I took one day this week to learn how to make some hexagons and had fun crafting it into a little hoop art. I experimented this time around with wrapping my hoops with washi tape and I love it!
I finished up the custom wedding vows I had been stitching for the past month. These were so much fun to design and sew! I absolutely love how they turned out!
And the back was almost as cool as the front!
I also finished up this custom poem for a client. It was by far the most stressful thing I’ve stitched. It was a picture of the beauty of etsy in that a women came to me with this detailed explanation of this picture she had in her head and I had the pleasure (and huge task!) of designing and making that picture a reality.
And in the end, she gave me one of the best compliments ever:
Just wanted you you to know I received the embroidery today and it is just perfect. I love it! I am going to give it to my son and daughter in law as a gift on Mothers Day. I know it’s a ways off yet, but I have been thinking about this for a long time and am very happy I had it made. Thank you so very much for your beautiful work and the time you spent on it!
It was a beautiful way to end a week!
Here’s an update on what I’ve been busy with these last few weeks…
A set of Mo Willem’s pigeon themed items…
clutches (and introducing a new smaller size)
custom onesies for a gift order
new packaging for my advent calendar/christmas countdown sets
color your tree with an initial for everyone in your family
part one of a set of embroidered moleskin journals
Most of these items are only available locally. I will be at the Maryville Farmer’s Market Holly Days tomorrow morning from 9-2 and all of these items will be available there. It is part of the Christmas open house for the town of Maryville. All the local shops are running specials all day.
And then I will be at the Christmas Fair at Fellowship Church in Knoxville in early December. If you aren’t local and see something you can’t get in the shop, just email me or join my facebook page and we can figure out how to get the perfect gift to you!
It’s always one of the most refreshing things ever to see something that you had pictured in your mind come together via your hands. That was the case with this birth announcement.
I had done a subway style version to begin with and I did love how it turned out, but I knew I wanted to do a more girly version. After doing some research and looking around the web, I decided that I wanted to try my hand at a mix of felt flowers and embroidery.
I added a few vintage buttons to the mix, plus some lazy daisy stitches and I’m stunned with how well it turned out.
These will be up in the shop in the coming weeks so you can get your own custom made version!
